LAUT - Curator's Vest
HAND-DRAWN BATIK AND NATURALLY DYED IN
GESIKHARJO VILLAGE, EAST JAVA.
A vest designed to elevate any outfit. Layer it over your favorite shirt or wear it with a slim belt as a versatile top. Either way, wear it all day long—and still look put-together.
LAUT depicts the silent waves that border the coastal line and the vast ocean surrounding our newest village: Gesikharjo in East Java. Interpreted as a fluid line that continuously moves, it evokes the harmonious relationships between our past, present, and future. From the artisans to the wearer, all become intricately one.
The collection’s unique shades of ochre showcase the intricate art of natural dyeing. Using the bark of sustainably sourced Javanese Mahogany tree, our artisans create a wide range of colors by carefully varying duration and number of dips.
Color and pattern variations may occur and are part of the charm of this handcrafted fabric. We love that one-of-a-kind-feel!
