SELAH - Curator's Shirt in Midnight Indigo
HANDLOOMED BY MASTER WEAVERS IN
MEDONO VILLAGE, CENTRAL JAVA.
Our Curator's Shirt is the sophisticated take of our signature Weekend Shirt. Crafted with 2,000 raw cotton threads & hand-dyed to achieve this deep navy blue, it offers a more structured and fitted look. Designed for an evening out or one of those crucial meetings, truly your go-to piece in your pursuit of changing the world in style.
SELAH is the space between. An invitation to find the freedom that we all have, the space between stimulus and response.
To achieve the randomized yet structured lines in SELAH, our master weavers manually insert and adjust the lines by hand - one at a time. The deep midnight shade is achieved from 10 dips of Strobilanthes Cusia leaves, before darkening it in Ceriops Tagal wood bark. Taking more than 400hours to craft 1 piece, each establishes a connection between them and you, the wearer.
Color and pattern variations may occur and are part of the charm of this handcrafted fabric. We love that one-of-a-kind-feel!

I've been a fan of SukkhaCitta for a long time. I just love your work with villages all over Indonesia. This shirt was my first purchase and I absolutely love it. The color, the fit, how it feels when I wear it! It's both elegant and edgy. And the way you sent it - so carefully wrapped with a postcard from the village that made my shirt - it absolutely made my day. Thank you SukkhaCitta!
